Situated in Family Courts in 17 districts throughout the province, Family Law Information Centres supply information on other dispute resolution options, and issues related to separation and divorce and child protection issues. Information regarding the court process, additional community resources are also available.

Lawyer Referral Service of the Law Society of Upper Canada
Will refer you to a lawyer who will work for you. There is a $6 charge to use the phone service, but, if you are in police custody, under the age of 18, in a shelter or are experiencing domestic violence, you can contact  (416) 947-3330 in the Toronto area, or toll-free at 1-800-268-8326 from elsewhere in Ontario. You will be granted a half-hour free initial consultation, after which you can choose if you want to hire the lawyer to work for you or not. Assistance in other languages is available and other special needs may also be accommodated.

Legal Aid Ontario provides legal services free of charge for particular cases involving child protection, custody, support, access and restraining-order issues.
